    Description

Presented is a nice set of 13 Norwegian silver coffee or demitasse spoons in the Dovre pattern by Th Marthinsen circa 1910-1930. The spoons are really a bit bigger than demitasse spoons, I am not sure whether they should be called coffee spoons or demitasse spoons. You decide. The handles have a wonderful hammered finish topped with applied flower and scroll decoration. The pattern is very similar to the Hardanger pattern made by Magnus Aase of Bergen. The backs of the handles on twelve of the spoons are monogrammed with a W in a fancy script. The thirteenth spoon is engraved with the date 1947 on the back of the handle and ‘Borghild’ on the front of the handle.
The spoons are hallmarked on the reverse with 830S for the silver purity and NM. Some of the spoons are also marked with KH for the retailer.
The condition is excellent. The spoons have some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is very minor. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The demitasse spoons are 4 3/4 inches long.
The weight is 150.8 grams or 5.3 ounces.
