1946 SHEAFFER STRATOWRITER BALLPOINT PEN CONVERTED TO WORK W/MODERN REFILLS

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1946 Sheaffer Stratowriter Ballpoint Pen with 3-D printed Converter that used D1 Mini-refills.
This ballpoint pen is was Sheaffer's entry into the new ballpoint pen market. This pen has been converted to accept the new converter and has a red D1 Mini Refill. This writing instrument is a Sheaffer Stratowriter Ballpoint Pen with production beginning in 1946 till 1950. These Stratowriters Ballpoint Pens were made of heavy gold-filled material and sold for . The cap is stamped, "SHEAFFER MADE IN U.S.A.". The ballpoint cartridge is extended using a press and twist mechanism that requires two hands to operate and functions as it should. This Stratorwriter has the lower barrel end cap that was to keep the original refill from drying out - tough to find these Stratowriters complete with the lower barrel end cap.
The cap and barrel have absolutely no damage, dents, wear to the finish. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. This pen has been polished to a high shine and looks as if it came off the factory showroom floor.
This Sheaffer Stratowriter Pen measures 5 1/2" inches in length. The diameter of the pen at the widest point is 9.52mm.
We have worked with another company to have a 3D printed converter that will accept D1 Mini Refills. This converter (seen in the photos) works with the model only. The refill will slide into the nose cone and will fit in place by friction. This allows the Sheaffer Stratwriter to work with modern refills since the original refills that Sheaffer made for this are no longer available.
This Sheaffer Stratowriter Ballpoint Pen is uncommon generally speaking. Many people overlook this writing instrument because they typically don't work and no one had a reliable means to make them work consistently, until now. I would consider this Sheaffer Stratowriter to be in Excellent+ to Near Mint Condition. A marvelous addition to your writing arsenal collection.

These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".

Refunds:
Item must be returned within 30 days of receiving it and in the same condition as received. The item cost will be refunded. (Buyer pays all shipping and insurance). Item must be returned with Delivery Confirmation. Item must be returned to qualify for a refund. I do not give refunds for uninsured items if they get broke in shipping. ( I do pack carefully, I do not want them to arrive broken.) Some of my listings include insurance on shipping. Please make sure they do, if not please request it, if you would like it added.
