Well I shure (sic) ought to be ashamed, well I will try and reform in turn over a new leaf. How is your family. I expect your boy is quite a boy by now worth at least 0 million and then some well anyway your rich. Have you had a good honey year since I was there. I am into the drilling business deeper than ever have fitted out for rotary drilling good for 2500 ft or over. M down 2051 feet now on a job and going deeper it is south of Nampa right where the road 1 crosses snake River. I am enclosing a clipping I have carried in my pocket book for a year or so. A year ago last fall I went elk hunting and killed two large elk, a cow and bowl last fall. I got a six point bull elk. I wounded so many that got away with the 35 Remington so last fall got a 300 Magnum put a muzzle blast control on it and like it quite well only got to shoot one shot hit him in the butt of the neck and he folded up without even kicking so I don't know too much about what it will do yet. Bertha is quite a bit better than she was. We don't know yet but we may move back to Idaho. How is you and your wife's general health good I hope. Arizona is really dry how are you there Idaho has plenty irrigating water so far. Am going over to California in the morning will stay about a week then expect to be back in Idaho before the end of January. I am still dreaming about having all your brothers + wifes (sic) out on a elk hunt but don't want to do it until I can do it right. I haven't heard where Jessie and Carl live have you. Did they drill for oil where you and I went to look at the rig. Hope you will excuse the pencil. I make too many mistakes to use pen. With best wishes and love, Austin." The letter comes with the original newspaper clipping mentioned in the letter that contains an obituary about "Roy Rabbitt, 70, Apiarist, Expires" and all is contained in the original 6 1/2" wide by 4" tall mailing envelope postmarked January 4, 1954 from Phoenix Arizona to Alamosa Colorado Folded as mailed. We will try and combine shipping on multiple purchases wherever possible. Please e-mail us with auction item numbers before sending payment.
However, if the items are heavy or require special packing / tracking, the postal rates might not be significantly reduced. We no longer ship overseas first class mail. We will only ship Internationally by Priority Mail, and that starts at .00. So please be aware that we NO LONGER SHIP FIRST CLASS MAIL INTERNATIONALLY unless seller agrees to ship by USPS Priority mail at an increased rate. Postage rates are non-negotiable and non-refundable. We pack every item professionally using new packing materials and appropriate mailing supplies. We send all items via US Postal Service. The U.S.Postal service rates change fairly regularly every year and we don't make money on postage like some other ebay sellers. I think you'll find that we're quite fair.
Thank-you!
Terms of Sale
I try and place a penny in every photo to help judge the size of the item, obviously it is there for size comparison and is not included with the item. The standard sized Lincoln head penny in the photograph is there for size comparison ONLY and is not included in the package. We're just trying to help you figure out how big the item is. We try and always be as accurate as we can in the item
description and will gladly answer any question about item size & description when needed. Please e-mail us with any questions BEFORE the end of sale and BEFORE placing a bid. Postage is determined by the U.S. Postal service and is never refundable. Many of the items are VINTAGE and although they are in very fine condition, they may not function as well as when they were made decades ago. So if you intend on using the old item, please be aware that we are selling it for collector value only. In other words, if you intend on using a 50+ year old letter opener and it breaks, don't get mad at us. It may be hard to believe, but we have received a couple negatives because people broke vintage items while trying to use them.
