C1953 SHEAFFER SARATOGA PASTEL BLUE SNORKEL FOUNTAIN PEN XXF TO XF NIB RESTORED

Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1953 Sheaffer Saratoga Snorkel Fountain Pen in the Pastel Blue color with a 14K Two-Tone nib. The fountain pen comes with the original box and filling instructions.  This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful operating and writing condition.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks, or repairs. The barrel has a perfect imprint that reads, "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. Fort Madison, Iowa U.S.A. Made in U.S.A.". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. There is no brassing or wear to the cap or the gold-filled clip and cap banding. The snorkel tube moves freely and draws ink as it should. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Sheaffer Snorkel measures 5 1/2" in length capped and 6 1/2" posted.
The 14K Two-Tone Sheaffer NIB is an Extra-Fine Nib with the point measuring roughly .37mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB writes with a double extra-fine to extra-fine line/stroke. In the writing sample provided, this NIB stroke measures roughly between .28mm to .44mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. Finding a double extra fine writer is extremely scarce. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
The Touchdown Snorkel filling system has been restored to work again. I installed a new rubber sac, o-ring, and point seal - all been replaced with correct reproduction parts. This Sheaffer Pen has been disassembled, cleaned, and inspected for any defects before reassembling. The Touchdown filling system has been tested with water and fills as it should. The filling system has perfect suction and works flawlessly.
This Sheaffer Saratoga Snorkel Fountain Pen is in Near Mint Condition. Finding a Sheaffer with a double extra-fine nib is a tough task to find but here we have one. The set is in ready-to-write condition or just add to your writing arsenal collection.

Refunds:
Item must be returned within 14 days of receiving it and in the same condition as received. The item cost will be refunded. (Buyer pays all shipping and insurance). Item must be returned with Delivery Confirmation. Item must be returned to qualify for a refund. I do not give refunds for uninsured items if they get broke in shipping. ( I do pack carefully, I do not want them to arrive broken.) Some of my listings include insurance on shipping. Please make sure they do, if not please request it, if you would like it added.
