O, this is not an original toy from the 1930s. Yes, I made it up for my own collection many, many years ago after seeing one in the showcase of America's premier Disneyana collector. I looked in vain to find one for a few years until it dawned on me that it was actually a classic put together toy using all original parts that were never intended to be used together. I think the collector who first made one had a brilliantly inspired flash of creativity. It is the one celluloid mechanical toy made from disparate parts that actually should have been made by the geniuses in Japan who created all the other toys for Walt Disney. It looks right. It feels right. It is perfectly scaled. It works! How could they have not seen this? After all they made a dozen relatively boring acrobat swing toys featuring Mickey, Minnie & Donald. This one is certainly not boring. I fell for it the moment I first laid eyes on it. Of course, you can make your own for less than I am willing to sell this one for if you have the right parts & the right skills.

To create this “fantasy” I used an outstanding pair of original figures. Mickey is the better of the 2 & still has the import/export sticker under his shoes. I was very careful to not harm the figures when punching holes in the 3 hands to connect them to the playground swing. I also added 1 string tail. I think Minnie's tail is original. The arms retain original stringing & Mickey is tight & Minnie a bit loose. Both figures have a T in a circle trademark & Japan below the mark. I found a very fine playground swing toy with the original generic boy & girl in celluloid & swapped out the figures. The toy works well & runs for quite a long time. Minnie swings back & forth while standing on the swing, Mickey's arm moves up & down to ring the bell. Awesome!
