Description

FROM THE COLLECTION OF FORREST J ACKERMAN.
The one page original typescript by Forry Ackerman of a letter to Julius Schwartz in 1951. Excellent condition. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in middle. Forry typed a 1st draft of every letter he wrote (in those days before photocopies). The "Morojo", who signed and possibly wrote this satirical missive, was the nom-de-plume of a woman named Myrtle Douglas, who worked with FJA (although this was found with many typescripts which were not only clearly written by Forry, but written on the same typewriter as this was). The now deceased Ms. Douglas (Morojo) was one of the sci-fi fans involved with the First World Science Fiction Convention of 1939, a friend of Forry's, and most likely worked with him on "Madge". For confirmation, please refer to page 124 of Forrest J Ackerman's World of Science Fiction where her name(s) and photo (along with FJA's) is pictured.
