    Description

    Primitive Native American Apache Indian Beaded War Shield. Made prior to the 1900s, somewhere in the later half of 1800s. Shield is a giant work of art. 23inches across. Beaded on the front. Beadwork is sewn onto a trade cloth cover that is trimmed in red trade cloth and attached to a large plant fiber base. A rare but reasonable method of construction. 2 leather straps are connected on the backside with green trade cloth. Very common in the Apache tribe to see this type of woven fiber on a variety of items.  This is a rare find that will fit perfect in any early Indian Collection.
