Rare Antique European Sterling Silver & Ebony Wood Regimental Staff of Honor
This stunning staff of honor was hand made in Central Europe, probably in Austria or Germany, in the first half of the 19th Century. It features a hand carved ebony wood staff in two pieces which can be screwed together adorned with a center Silver cylinder and Silver finials. The staff was likely presented to an officer at the occasion of regimental transfer or retirement. Very few of those pieces survive.
The piece is in good antique condition with some patina according to age (can be polished away if desired). It screws open nicely and screws together tightly.
This decorative piece measures approx. 14 1/2" long and weighs
approx. 150 grams. No visible hallmarks but tested for high grade Silver.
