    Description

    You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Algoma K 127, a Flower Class (39-40 program) Corvette which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945.
    Algoma was laid down on 18 June 1940 at Port Arthur Shipbuilding. She was launched on 17 December 1940 , and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on 11 July 1941.
    Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlantic. She was paid of at Sydney, Nova Scotia in July 1945, and sold to the Venezuelan Navy where she served until 1962.
    Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall waterline port  bow view.
    Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge , general characteristics, callsign, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
