    NOT A TOY Authentic Battle Axe..  (Weapon and or Ceremonial Piece)Wonderful piece of native American History!
    Wood handle has remnants of red paint & possible carvings. Adorned with feathers, rabbit fur, leather (deer hide) & copper.
    Although very old I believe this was used for ceremony and dance purposes. The only back ground history I have is it was located in a cabin type home (it had 5 wood burning stoves for cooking and heat) which an elderly native American couple built and lived in for many years in Northern Wisconsin. Believed to be associated with the Menominee Culture; northern woodland tribe.
    Sadly the couple passed away and later someone purchased the land with cabin. This axe was in their home along with many other rustic Hand -crafted Native American collectible items! Saved and selling with complete respect of out Native American Heritage. Looking for someone to preserve the history & culture. Thank you.

    The age does varies in these pieces. Some pieces of the artwork show to be around 50 years old, created in the early 70s… but a majority of the pieces show direct evidence of being up to 100-150 years of age ..
