Walt Disney Antique Thumper Stuffed Animal Velvet/Mohair 1930s.
This gorgeous red velvet and mohair Thumper is a RARE find in such amazing condition!! The features on his stiffened muslin face have been perfectly stenciled on. His sewn on tag clearly states "Thumper copyright Walt Disney Prod." on one side and "Character Novelty Co. Licensee South Norwalk Conn." on the other.
This company was in business from the early 1930s to the early 1980s and revolutioned American made plush toys by developing an internal wiring system. This allowed the items to oftentimes be poseable and to have fuller stuffed bodies.
This Thumper however is a soft body plush. There are no rips or tears to any of the seams. There does seem to be some pen marks on the back of his left leg that might be removable with a laundry spray but I will leave that up to the new owner.
